Introducing the Lockwood & San Emigdio Railroad

The Lockwood & San Emigdio is a fictional narrow gauge railroad in the mountains along the border between Ventura and Kern Counties in Southern California. It connects with the also-fictional, but historically based Bakersfield & Ventura standard gauge railroad, which runs between its namesake cities -- Ventura on the coast, and Bakerfield in the southern San Joaquin Valley. I am modeling the L&SE in On30 -- O Scale (approximately 1/4 inch to the foot) running on H.O. Scale track, representing 30-inch gauge.

The map shows a portion of the L&SE, from Lockwood to just north of the Ridgelite quarry. In light blue are the the routes of the Frazier Borate Co.'s mine railroad.
